چکیده

Background: No studies have been conducted evaluating sugarcane silage associated with both Lactobacillus plantarum and Pediococcus pentosaceus for lactating dairy cows. Objective: To evaluate diets containing different roughages without microbial inoculants on intake, digestibility milk yield of medium-producing Methods: A total 15 Holstein cows distributed into a randomized block design were used. Dietary treatments were: 1) corn silage-based diet (CS), 2) fresh sugarcane-based (SC), 3) ensiled inoculant (SS), 4) buchneri (SSLB), 5) (SSLP). Results: Digestible organic matter intake (DOMI) was lower (p<0.05) in fed SSLB (9.77 kg day-1) when compared CS (13.29 SSLP (12.42 day-1). Ensiling increased neutral detergent fiber (NDF) to SC (mean 6.00 day-1 versus 4.97 day-1; p<0.05). Dry greater (77.80%) based silage, whereas NDF (p<0.05). Milk similar among (27.99 kg), (25.59 silages additives (25.47 27.07 SSLP, respectively). Cows produced more fat-corrected (25.89 kg) than those Conclusions: Fresh or can be used as roughage source producing up 23.43 d-1 milk, considering the is properly balanced.

Performance of lactating dairy cows fed alfalfa silage or perennial ryegrass silage.

The nutrient contents of perennial ryegrass (Lolium perenne L.) and alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.) are reasonably similar. Despite similarities, the lactation performance of dairy cows fed perennial ryegrass has not been compared with the lactation performance of dairy cows fed alfalfa. The present study was implemented to compare the performance of lactating cows fed alfalfa or perennial ryegras...

Influence of corn silage particle length on the performance of lactating dairy cows fed supplemental tallow.

The objective of this study was to determine if the length of chop of processed corn silage influences the impact of supplemental fat on rumen fermentation and performance of dairy cows. We hypothesized that increasing forage particle length may alleviate the interference of fat on rumen fermentation. Sixteen Holstein cows averaging 120 d in milk were used in a replicated 4 x 4 Latin square des...

Performance of lactating dairy cows fed macerated forage conserved as silage and hay

The effect of forage maceration at harvest on silage characteristics and its effect on lactation performance of Holstein cows were determined. Either a roller conditioner or a prototype forage macerator manufa...

Performance of lactating dairy cows fed red clover or alfalfa silage.

The objective of this study was to compare utilization of red clover (Trifolium pratense L.) and alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.) by lactating dairy cows. Red clover and alfalfa were harvested and conserved as silage at two maturities in 2 consecutive yr. Each year, diets containing experimental forages and supplemental grain were fed to 16 multiparous Holstein cows in early lactation in a replicat...
